Foteini Venieri is a scholar of museum and theatre studies and an adjunct lecturer at Panteion University in Athens. She graduated from the Department of Theatre Studies of the University of Athens and completed her postgraduate studies in Cultural Management at the Panteion University with a scholarship from the State Scholarship Foundation. She completed her doctoral thesis on museum theatre at the University of Thessaly with a grant from the Leventis Foundation and the Papadakis Endowment. Her post-doctoral research on the concept of dialogue and dialogic practices in museums was carried out at the Department of Communication, Media and Culture of Panteion University with a grant from the State Scholarship Foundation. Since 2017, as a founding member and co-manager of the museum theatre company Heterotopia, which focuses on the use of performing arts in the interpretation of heritage, she designs and implements museum theatre performances in
archaeological sites and museums.

She was a research fellow of the Council of Europe's HISTOLAB project (2023-24), which focuses on innovative methods of teaching history. She has taught at the Department of Theatre Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, at the Department of Archaeology, Library Science and Museology of the Ionian University and in the postgraduate programmes "Public History" and "Creative Writing" of the Hellenic Open University. She is involved in research projects focusing on the use of digital narrative media in cultural heritage. Her research interests include museum theatre, public history and archaeology, cultural heritage, interpretation, use and communication of the past in digital and physical environments, museum theory with a focus on the social mediation of the museum institution, digital learning and museum learning . Her articles have been published in international and Greek journals, conference proceedings and edited volumes. Her book on museum theatre is published by Dissigma Publication (in greek).
