The CLARIN Annual Conference, organised by CLARIN, is the main annual event for those working on the construction and operation of CLARIN across Europe.
This online event is organised by ENRIICT, DARIAH and CLARIN. It investigates new relationships between Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) Research Infrastructures (RIs) with stakeholders outside academia.
This partnership, established in 2015, sees CLARIN integrate digital cultural heritage data from Europeana into their research infrastructure for use by the academic community.
Since 2017, CLARIN and Europeana have worked together to increase the number of cultural heritage objects available for quick and easy discovery as well as processing by humanities and social sciences scholars. In this post, we take a look at the new resources integrated into CLARIN’s Virtual Language Observatory.
CLARIN, the European Research Infrastructure for Language Resources and Technology, has successfully integrated a selection of Europeana Collections material into their Virtual Language Observatory (VLO) portal.
In 2017, CLARIN carried out a pilot exploring the possibilities of integrating Europeana Collections’ material into its infrastructure and thus opening up new possibilities for the discovery and linguistic processing of textual cultural heritage content for a social sciences and humanities research audience. This integration is now entering a new stage, offering improved quality and increased processing potential.
