1. The spotlight is on tech

For this year’s Europeana conference, we are delighted to put the spotlight on tech. Learn from the experts, developers and researchers from the R&D sector who make up our EuropeanaTech community and explore all the new developments and technologies that will support the growth of the data space for cultural heritage.

2. Access a programme designed by and for the sector

90% of the conference programme was created by the professionals working in and around tech, research and development in the cultural heritage sector who responded to our call for proposals. This means that there are multiple lightening talks and sessions for online audiences which are drawn from the rich and varied technological expertise available across the sector, offering you new insights and knowledge. Discover the full programme.

3. Hear from experts and leaders

From the welcome of each day to to the last parallel sessions - the speakers at EuropeanaTech 2023 are leaders in the sector. Develop your knowledge of AI with Dr Mia Ridge, hear about the restoration of Notre Dame from Brian Katz and gain insights into policy perspectives with a welcome from Rehana Schwinninger-Ladak, Head of the Unit Interactive technologies, Digital for Culture and Education, European Commission.

4. Develop your skills

EuropeanaTech 2023 aims to help you develop your capacity for working with digital cultural heritage. Whether it’s learning the basics or gaining a new skill, the conference will be an opportunity to develop your knowledge and refine existing practice, with ‘how to’ sessions on aggregation workflows, use of AI, community inclusion and more.

5. Enjoy a designed experience

EuropeanaTech 2023 has been designed with both onsite and online audiences in mind, and the experienced Europeana team will ensure that both have the best possible experience. Having some sessions as online only ensures that they can be tailored for you to attend and contribute digitally, while everyone will be able to access and enjoy the hybrid keynotes.
