Nienke van Schaverbeke
It is my passion to engage, involve and connect people and knowledge in the digital age to make the world a better place. Building pan-European networks and connections has been a common thread throughout my career. My experience includes roles in academic publishing (Brill Academic Publishers, Cambridge University Press), the GLAM sector (The European Library, Europeana) and currently as Product Manager Heritage & Research at the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision.
Having been involved with Europeana since 2012, I have seen digital transformation in action. I firmly believe that collaboration empowers and sharing knowledge is key. I brought culture to the crowds through many different projects supporting cultural heritage institutions (ie. The Rise of Literacy, Europeana Newspapers, Europeana Libraries), and I helped develop overarching campaigns and participatory events for Europeana (Europe at Work, Women’s Season, Collection Days and Transcribathons).
