Rights statements express the copyright status of a digital object and provide information about how someone can re-use the object. This course outlines and offers training on rights statements available which can support cultural heritage institution to communicating reuse conditions.
It offers information on how to identify the most accurate and adequate rights statement for the data you share with Europeana.
This course is particularly addressed at those working in cultural heritage institutions, but can potentially also be useful to researchers, teachers or creators wishing to use these materials (however, note that it is not specialised for those audiences).
Before taking this course, we strongly recommend you to follow the course "Copyright basics for cultural heritage professionals", either instructor-led (taking place on October 22nd, 2024) or self-paced through the Europeana Academy.
