Europeana Academy

Europeana Academy is a training programme to build capacity in professionals working with and around cultural heritage. It aims to provide participants with a comprehensive and enriching learning experience.

Europeana Academy will be officially launched in Summer 2024, offering both self-paced courses through our Training Platform and live instructor led sessions. Read on to discover the pilot activities which are already available for registration!

Instructor-led sessions

From June 2024, we are excited to run a number of pilot training events exclusively for Europeana Network Association Members which offer participants the opportunity to learn new skills in a hands-on and interactive environment, while also shaping and giving feedback on the training so that we can improve it further.

Below is an overview of the training topics, instructors, dates and duration of the instructor-led training sessions we are running. These sessions are now full:

  3. Preparing image collections in the IIIF standard for Europeana by Gerda Koch and Ramiro Ortiz on 26 June, 10:00 - 12:00 CEST

  4. How to identify and clear copyright in cultural heritage by Ariadna Matas on 8 July, 09:30 - 11:30 CEST

  5. Understanding rights statements and Creative Commons licenses by Ariadna Matas on 15 July, 09:30 - 11:30 CEST

  6. Expressing reuse conditions: how to select an accurate rights statement by Ariadna Matas on 18 July, 09:30 - 11:30 CEST

Registration is now available for the following session: 

7. Metis Sandbox – check your data for quality and preview it for inclusion in Europeana by Jochen Vermeulen on 9 July, 10.00 - 12.00. 


From September 2024, Europeana Academy will start to offer regular, instructor-led training opportunities, based on this pilot.
