Towards recovery: Digital capacity building in the Cultural Heritage sector

This Europeana conference was held on 3 and 4 June 2021 under the auspices of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU and in collaboration with the National Library of Portugal and the Portuguese Ministry of Culture.

About

The conference provided an opportunity to build on the momentum catalysed by the COVID-19 pandemic to help shape a necessary shared understanding of digital transformation and the base for a common approach to capacity building for the recovery, resilience and sustainability of the cultural sector.

At the conference, the participants deepened their understanding of capacity building for digital transformation across the European cultural heritage sector. Sessions explores what role we can play in a common approach to capacity building around policy, institutional development, human capacity, change processes, and sustainability.

The outcomes will form the base of a shared understanding and common approaches by policy makers, cultural heritage institutions and organisations and Europeana in the area of capacity building as part of the digital transformation process that participants take back to their national contexts and apply to their own situations.

Parts of the event were invite-only, aimed at cultural policymakers from EU Member States, but other sessions are open to all! Explore the programme and watch the public sessions below.
