Europeana-Ki Culture Sustainability Workshop Series: Workshop II - Climate Action

This workshop was part of a series focusing on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), climate action, and better digital information management practice. It was held by the Europeana Climate Action Community in collaboration with Ki Culture.

Sustainability is a word that we hear a lot of these days. But what exactly does it mean? And how does it apply to the cultural sector? The second session of a three-session workshop series focused on the climate crisis and specifically what the cultural sector, can do about it.

    Objectives

This workshop challenged participants to discuss topics that they felt were controversial or difficult to discuss. By providing moderated, small discussion spaces, participants were given space and time to explore their own thoughts and feelings regarding the climate crisis and the larger and smaller actions happening. The aim was for participants to leave feeling empowered and relieved - having a clearer takeaway on what the nuances are of these topics and a clearer idea of their thoughts on these issues.

    Key Takeaways

    • A better understanding of key issues regarding climate and culture
    • A better understanding of their own views on these topics
    • A better understanding of their peers’ views on these topics
    • Practice in communicating and discussing these issues

    Length

1,5 hours on Zoom, including a presentation, breakout activity and debrief. The webinar took place on 25 May 2023.
