    Exhibition: "China: Through the Looking Glass"

    This exhibition explores the impact of Chinese aesthetics on Western fashion and how China has fueled the fashionable imagination for centuries. In this collaboration between The Costume Institute and the Department of Asian Art, high fashion is juxtaposed with Chinese costumes, paintings, porcelains, and other art, including films, to reveal enchanting reflections of Chinese imagery.

    Exhibition: "Liberty in Fashion"

    Liberty has been at the cutting edge of design and the decorative arts since 1875. The exhibition "Liberty in Fashion", held at Fashion and Textile Museum in London from the 9th October 2015 to the 28th February 2016, explores Liberty’s impact on British fashion, from Orientalism and Aesthetic dress in the 19th century, through Art Nouveau and Art Deco in the early 20th century, and the revival of these styles since the 1950s. Liberty Art Fabrics and the textile design studio take centre stage as the internationally recognised leader in floral, paisley and patterned prints and dress fabrics.

    Exhibition: "Global Fashion Capitals"

    The globalization of fashion has given rise to new fashion cities that now annually host hundreds of fashion weeks around the world. The exhibition "Global Fashion Capitals", held at The Museum at FIT Fashion & Textile History Gallery from the 2nd June to 14th November 2015 explores, through over 70 objects, the history of the established fashion capitals and the emergence of 16 new fashion cities.

    Exhibition "Fashion Mix. French Fashion, Foreign Designers"

    The FASHION MIX exhibition is a tribute to French expertise which Russian, Armenian, Italian, Spanish, Japanese and Belgian designers – to name but a few in the field of fashion – help spread worldwide. From Charles Frederick Worth to Azzedine Alaïa, Fortuny to Issey Miyake and Yohji Yamamoto, and from Elsa Schiaparelli to Martin Margiela, not forgetting Cristobal Balenciaga, Robert Piguet, Paco Rabane and Raf Simons – all of these foreign designers and creative directors have brought about a revolution in French fashion and enriched its history.

    Exhibition "From Matrix to Sleeping Beauty"

    From Matrix to Sleeping Beauty gives the opportunity to known the work of António Lagarto as a costume designer, presenting a selection of almost 300 pieces (clothing, hair props, jewellery and shoes) that have been worn by some of the most important actors, actresses and dancers to embody several characters of the national and international dramaturgical universe. To adequately visualize the aesthetic universe of António Lagarto and the way he works space, matter, body and light, he also signs the curatorship and exhibition design.
