1. Follow a diverse and inspiring programme
From folk heritage to performing arts, and from playing games to storytelling with 3D, this year’s Digital Storytelling Festival will cover a huge range of topics in one event. It is a great chance to discover new stories and approaches to inform your own work. Discover the programme
2. Hear from experts
Our first keynote speaker is Thomas Flynn, a Digital Heritage Consultant, who will talk about storytelling and 3D. On day two, Georgina Holt, Social Media and Content Coordinator at the National Portrait Gallery of Australia, will tackle the question ‘Is social media still social?’ with anecdotes, case studies and powerful storytelling. Then a plethora of workshops and talks from experts in storytelling and digital cultural heritage will further enrich your Festival!
3. Develop new skills
Being able to tell stories online with our cultural heritage offers opportunities to engage communities, reach new audiences and inspire. The Festival offers the opportunity to learn new techniques, develop your digital storytelling skills, and reuse digital cultural heritage with workshops on creative writing and curating galleries, and a focus on diversity and inclusion with workshops on tools for teaching diversity and the stories told by cultural heritage item descriptions
4. Stay entertained with varied formats
At this year’s Digital Storytelling Festival you will be able to follow presentations, take part in workshops and listen to talks. You will also be able to socialise, dance to a DJ set and take part in a pub quiz - there is no danger of getting bored
5. Have fun!
The Festival is an opportunity to be creative, try things out and explore surprising ideas. We want you to play, have fun and leave inspired - sign up now and we can’t wait to see you there!
