Yasemin Bagci

Yasemin Bağcı currently works as Outreach and Communications coordinator at Sound and Vision. In this capacity, she is involved in the production of editorial content as well as in the coordination of communications and events connected with various European digital heritage projects {e.g. Europeana XX, Europeana Subtitled, Europeana Classroom Task Force AV in Education, EUscreen and Polifonia).

In addition to freelance activities in communication, writing, translation, and research, she has worked in international cultural cooperation as an advisor for Turkey & Egypt (DutchCulture), in fundraising (Van Gogh Museum & Manifesta Biennial) and in academia as a researcher (Leiden University).

She was trained as an artist, art historian, and archaeologist in France, Turkey, and the Netherlands respectively. In 2017, she obtained her PhD at the University of Leiden in Islamic archaeology.
