Sofie Kokas holds a master's degree in Art History from the University of St. Andrews. She is the policy officer for digitisation in the arts and culture at the Federal Ministry of Austria for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport. In this capacity, she is involved with the implementation of Austria's digitisation efforts under NextGenerationEU and the Recovery and Resilience Facility, which include the relaunch of the national aggregator for cultural heritage data, a large-scale funding programme for the digitisation of cultural heritage objects and the publishing of a national strategy for the digitisation of cultural heritage. She is a member of the subgroup of the Commission Expert Group on a Common European Data Space for Cultural Heritage focusing on the potential for re-use of cultural heritage data.
