Julie Van Oyen
Julie is a designer, researcher, and educator based in Delft, Netherlands. Originally from Vancouver, Canada, she holds a Master of Design in Interaction Design from Emily Carr University of Art and Design. As Senior Product Designer at the Europeana Foundation, Julie leads user research and interface design for the Europeana.eu collections platform and the common European data space for cultural heritage.
Beyond her work with the Europeana collections, Julie is a contemporary art curator with a focus on archival practices and a guest lecturer at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) and Willem de Kooning Academy. Her multidisciplinary background also spans digital fabrication, exhibition design, and creative project management. When she isn’t at her desk, Julie can be found tinkering with tools, reading feminist horror, or sampling a local craft beer.
