The Centre for Digital Scholarship at Leiden University develops tutorials and tools, in the form of interactive notebooks, to support the analysis of digital cultural heritage collections with data science methods. Many of these notebooks make use of data sourced from Europeana.eu. One of them concentrates on the Medieval books that have been added to Europeana as part of the project 'The Art of Reading in the Middle Ages', by Leiden University Libraries and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, among many other institutions. Using the data that were collected, interactive maps and timelines were developed to clarify the places and the years of creation of all the books in the collection.

In this webinar, we want to honour the peer-to-peer knowledge sharing at the basis of the Europeana Research Community, giving the floor to one of its members. You will have the opportunity to explore the notebooks and learn how they have been used and received in teaching and research settings.

The webinar will last approximately one hour and will not be recorded. It is part of the 'Europeana data reuse in academia and research' webinar series, organised by Europeana Research. The series is dedicated to the exploration of digital cultural heritage in Higher Education and Research and innovative practices surrounding the reuse of Europeana data.
