Europeana Lunch Café

It provides an opportunity for cultural heritage professionals to get to know and inspire each other, to reflect on specific but broadly formulated topics, and to exchange experiences. It aims to encourage and support the informal discussions that would take place at physical events (for example, during coffee or lunch breaks or drinks and dinners) in an online format.

This Europeana Lunch Café will focus on the history and culture of sport in Europe. Sport is a large part of people’s lives in Europe, but is often overlooked in terms of contribution to culture. We’ll discuss the value of sporting cultural heritage and how it offers opportunities to engage new and diverse audiences. This forms part of the Europeana Sport Generic Services project, which showcases cultural treasures relating to sporting heritage in Europe.
