First World War Songbooks and Music Sheet

200 transcripts of soldier songs created during the First World War.

The Archives of the Austrian Folk Music Society digitised within Europeana Collections 1914-1918 over 200 transcripts of soldier songs. The encouraging, motivating, but also often manipulating and indoctrinating songs that would cheer and distract the soldiers and reflect their thoughts and feelings.
