Aerial photos Denmark
Aerial photographs from the Royal Library of Denmark. In oblique and vertical format from many different collections depending on the origin, the areas photographed are Denmark and the Faroe Islands.
The biggest collection in Denmark, situated in The Department of Maps, Prints and Photographs.
The collection of Aerial Photographs comprises of about 4 million images - positives as well as negatives - from 10 different companies. The photographs show rural estates and properties, townscapes and pictures of companies and factories. There are two types of aerial photographs, vertical photographs, primarily taken for map-making , and oblique photographs, mostly used for illustrations. A special project involving crowdsourcing has involved scanning app. 350.000 images of chosen areas of Denmark- Funen, islands in Kattegat, Bornholm and from Oct. 2014 Western Jutland.
