The second Members Council (MC) meeting of the year took place on 6 and 7 July in the beautiful building of National Gallery of Denmark in Copenhagen. The Council had the great pleasure to welcome Ms. Catherine Magnant as a representative of the European Commission’s DG Education and Culture, responsible for organisation of the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage.
Winter wonderland was waiting for more than 200 members of the Europeana Network Association when we gathered in Riga, Latvia, for the 2016 ‘Show us what you’ve got’ AGM (8-9 November). It was a fabulous opportunity to welcome you all at the National Library of Latvia (LNB).
On 21-22 June, the Members Council - the 30 elected representatives of the Europeana Network Association - gathered in Vienna to discuss the Association’s role in the wider Europeana ecosystem, and its practical implementation: the 2017 Business Plan.
A springlike Copenhagen and the Statens Museum for Kunst played host to the first Europeana Members Council meeting in 2016. This meeting was particularly exciting for us as it was a chance to celebrate the Europeana Network Association’s first anniversary and get to know our newly elected colleagues.
Last week, the Europeana Network Association’s Members Council met at the Austrian National Library in Vienna. It was a chance to come together to discuss the year so far, as well as plan for the next six months ahead. Here, Max Kaiser, Chair of the Members Council, and Merete Sanderhoff, Vice Chair of the Members Council, fill us in on the day’s events.
