Lily Knibbeler

Lily Knibbeler has worked in a variety of management roles at the National Library since 2008. Knibbeler has been appointed Director General in 2015, the same year that the new Public Library Law delegated responsibility for the digital public library and network of public libraries to the KB. Knibbeler has been leading the KB with a strong emphasis on impact and public value, network collaboration and an overall ‘digital first’ strategy. Among various responsibilities in the field of heritage, information and library services, she served as Chair of the Conference of Directors of National Libraries worldwide during the period August 2017 - July 2022.
