The Collections team is responsible for developing Europeana Collections and its thematic collections. We support cultural institutions who want to reach communities of culture lovers using the Europeana infrastructures.
The Reuse Team aims to increase the reuse of Europeana Collections by professionals working in our target markets of education, research and the creative industries.
Data Partner Services
In collaboration with about 80 data partners across Europe, the Europeana Data Partner Services team populates the database that the Europeana Collections site and the Europeana API get their content from.
Programme and Network
The Programme and Network team are responsible for the management and development of the Europeana procurement and the organisation’s involvement in other projects, as well as policy development and advice, Europeana events and the Europeana Network Association.
Marketing and Communications
The Marketing and Communications team takes Europeana’s story out into the world to our different audiences - from professionals in the cultural sector to cultural enthusiasts, and from policymakers and politicians to creatives.
Research and Development
The Research and Development team are experts on technological innovation for aggregation, enhancement and publication of digital cultural heritage data and its associated services. Notably, we spearhead R&D on data exchange (the Europeana Data Model), data quality, multilingualism, and search.
Product Owner and Design
The purpose of this team is to create digital services and experiences. They assist with the creation of a hypothesis and its validation - from concept to the final form of the product and its maintenance.
Software Development and Infrastructure
The team (also known as, ‘the development team’ or ‘the technology team’) supports the online provision of the digitised collections of Europe’s cultural heritage institutions by designing, developing and maintaining Europeana's software for data ingestion, processing, publication, and retrieval. The product owners provide us with the requirements that we translate into real products.
