The art of sensing is(n't) hard to master: Integrating (dis)ability in the digital GesamtMuseumwerk

This workship from Europeana 2020 showcases a mediation tool that enables those who access digital collections to have deep and enriching experiences

About

As the concept of universal design slips more and more into our worlds, separating norm from particularity, commonality from diversity and ability from disability seems no longer workable. This workshop allowed participants to try a sample mediation tool enabling those who access digital collections to have deep and enriching experiences to which you can constructively contribute yourself.

The speakers carve out a discursive space of co-creation, exchanging our abilities and building stronger inter-supportive digital communities. They focus on descriptive methodologies intended to support visually impaired users, while also exploring their usefulness for all other users.
