Keynote and panel session: Mirror World: Utopia or dystopia
In this talk Kevin Kelly illuminates the outline of this emerging next platform for human creativity, followed by an interview and panel discussion as experts explore what it might mean for cultural heritage.
The next big thing after smartphones is smartglasses. In the coming decades these devices will map the entire world so that everything -- all things, all places, all people -- will be digitised. That means we will perceive a mirrrorworld that is laid over the real world, so that everything will be searchable and interactive, and this will give us a deepened view of reality. This marriage of the digital and the real, the virtual and the physical melded together, will become the center of our culture. Among other things it will shift our focus from artifacts to experiences. In this talk I will try to illuminate the outline of this emerging next platform for human creativity.
In the closing keynote for Europeana 2020, Kevin Kelly explores the 'Mirrorworld', followed by an interview and panel discussion with Susan Hazan and Marleen Stikker.
