Jobs

The Europeana office is based in The Netherlands, at the heart of The Hague. 50 people work on a wide variety of European projects contributing to the development of Europeana and The European Library Office, a CENL-owned and managed service.  Together with our partners from institutions all over Europe we are expanding and improving our portal (Europeana.eu) and services. One of our aims is to engage people in Europe with their cultural heritage and to give them access to that heritage online. Through the portal, people can find millions of digitised images, texts, maps, paintings, sounds and audiovisual materials from Europe's galleries, libraries, archives and museums.

Our ambition is to provide new forms of access to culture, to inspire creativity and stimulate social and economic growth.

Our Strategic Plan 2011-2015 outlines our approach to this challenge. During this period, Europeana will focus on four strategic tracks:

•    Aggregate content to build the open trusted source of European heritage
•    Facilitate knowledge transfer, innovation and advocacy in the cultural sector
•    Distribute their heritage to users wherever they are and whenever they want it
•    Engage users in new ways of participating in their cultural heritage.

The Strategic Plan isn't just a high level document, it translates to the work we carry out on a day-to-day basis and to each individual's responsibilities.
